Hello!
I use Total Commander 7.0 RC 4 and encounter the following problem (AFAIR the problem existed also with all the other earlier 7.0 versions):
When I use the "Find Files"-function (ALT-F7) with "Find text", I sometimes don't get search results although there should be some.
Using "Find files NOT containing the text", I get also the files *containing* the search text, using F3 two times (view+search with internal Lister) proves that, because the search text gets highlighted.
One combination that doesn't work is the following:
The file "wordnet.xsd" (contained in the archive pi5.de/tmp/wordnet.zip) with the search text "wordDocument" (didn't work case-sensitive, case-insensitive or with RegExp)
I hope, you can help me!
Thanks in advance,
Pascal

Hello and welcome.
In your example the file is inside an archive - did you remember to click the checkbox "Search archives" in Alt-F7 dialog?
TC only searches in archives if this is checked.
NOT confirmed, works fine here (TC7rc4 and 6.56).Knaeckebrot wrote:One combination that doesn't work is the following:

Who the hell is General Failure, and why is he reading my disk?

Hello,
I did extract the file and started the search. Doesn't work on different machines.
Bye

Hello,
I found out, why it didn't work: the file was an Unicode file and I didn't check "Unicode" in the search dialog.
Bye,
Pascal
