- At the top, the big buttons (Compare etc.) and the small ones (Find etc.) are so packed together they look like one group. That is why I would expect after the Font button, the Find button to get focus. Apparently the small buttons belong to a separate group. I suggest either to change the tab order or to make the separation of the two groups of buttons more visible.
- Tab order of the options Ignore repeated spaces and Ignore frequent lines is bottom to top instead of top to bottom.
- The Vertical arrangement button has no tab stop.
- The Save button, while enabled, has no tab stop.

TC7rc3 - Compare contents dialog, wrong tab order/tab stops
Select two files and open the Compare contents dialog (menu Files/Compare By Content) and continuously hit the Tab key and see what happens.

I'd vote to make the space between these groups a little bigger then, to make it optically more clear.
Maybe additionally the last 2 checkboxes could be activated in up-down order like the other checkboxes (now the lower one is activated before the upper one).

Who the hell is General Failure, and why is he reading my disk?

Maybe? Try Alt-I or clicking the option "ignore repeated spaces", then press the Tab key. Where do you expect the focus to go to?StatusQuo wrote:Maybe additionally the last 2 checkboxes could be activated in up-down order like the other checkboxes (now the lower one is activated before the upper one).
BTW. Tab order in this dialog in TC 6.56 is even worse.

Indeed the tab order of these two checkboxes is reversed. I will correct it.

What about the distance between the button/checkboxes?
I've made an example of how this could look: suggestion (added 4 pixels space to the left and 5 pixels to the right of the middle block of buttons)

Hmm, I prefer the look with equal distances. What do other users think?

3+4 are so-called speed buttons, like the buttons in synchronize dirs. Unfortunately these aren't true buttons, they can only be used with the mouse. Currently I have no solution for them.

I suppose, the thread should be moved into "Behaviour will not be changed".
