Irfan View
I noticed that in numerous topics on this forum the app Irfan View pops up.
Recently I became a moderator of the Irfan View forum, and I wondered : is the same awareness
going on the other way. So how many IV-users are familiar with TC ? I guess not much.
So I hope for an impressive percentage of TC-users, to convince IV-users to check the advantages.

By order of preference:
- 1- Imagine. As plugin and standalone. (it cover the most of my necessities)
2- Irfanview. Where I can't do things with imagine (lossless transformations, multiresize, etc.) irfanview is configured in lister for extensions rares.
3- Xnview. Some times (it work very, very fast with pictures (jpeg) where the thumbnail is extracted from exif information.
I can read English, but... I write like Tarzan. (sorry)
I have both IrfanView and XnView installed, but I don't use them as default image viewers/thumbnail generators. By default I use Imagine.

Well, I don't laugh but cry instead...But anytime I see the Properties dialog, I cannot help myself but laugh hard... Misc1 - misc2 misc 3

Nope, IrfanView is not part of my TC anymore. As a lister plugin, for thumbnail extraction and also as a standalone viewer I have switched to Imagine. XnView is used for thumbnail extraction as a backup.
I am still using IrfanView for some basic tasks though, like making an icon transparent and I like the PNGOUT plugin.
Irfan has waited way too long until he decided to implement decent image centering, that's why IrfanView has never become one of my favourites.

Why eat steak when an escalope serves the same purpose? Hungry => not hungry
Maybe because life is boring enough to use the same programs for 14 years without trying anything else that could get the job done faster, prettier, more comfortable, etc...?
With the approach "all good as is" we would still ask ourselves why it's so god-damned dark in our caves.
