Directory History

Post by *AnthonyCian »

Hello:

Using TC v7 under Windows XP Pro SP2.

Configuration>Options>Operation>Save On Exit>Directory History

I have the above setting unchecked (off). When I close TC, and open it, the previous directory history is still listed. The only way I can get this feature to work properly is to delete the section in the TC INI file. Once that is done, the directory history is cleared when TC is closed, and starts clean when TC is opened.

Just as a test, I turned "On" Save on Exit>Directory History, then turned it "Off". I had to repeat editing the INI again. Just something I thought I would pass on. Could be another setting I missed to have this work properly.

Thanks, Anthony

Odd behaviour indeed.
In the meantime, you could cleanup the dir-history with the TC add-on by Taher Salem : Ultra TC History Editor.

Well, it might be weird, but it works as designed - the History is not saved on exit, that means that the History entries are not touched. It does not mean that any previously saved directory entries are deleted.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

One would assume the previous history would be cleared. This could be because we are used to how other applications handle similar history on/off options I guess.

This is indeed intentional, so a user can use the history for some often used directories. I agree that a button to clear old history entries would be a good idea.

Why directory history list can contain only 26 directories? Many users want to see more entries (or/and user-configurable length of directory history list)!...
