FTP - Downloading from disconnected site cause freeze

Post by *L3zl13 »

After a server autocloses the connection after being idle too long, if I try to download a file from the still visible FTP directory TCMD tries to reconnect automatically. While this works on earlier versions, TCMD7 seems to reconnect but then freezes after the "Connect Ok!' message.

After that I can only shut down the program forcefully. (Program Not Responding)

If I don't try to download, but try to change directory or reread the current one, then reconnect works properly.
There seems to be no problem with the resuming of a previous download.

I'm having the same problem with different TC7 betas (RC 3-5) and with the final version while there is no problem with TC6.55 and earlier.

I've tried different FTP sites and a clean wincmd.ini.
wcx_ftp.ini was the same for the different TC7 versions and for the 6.55 therefore the FTP settings were the same.

No problems here! Are you sure you use the same settings, or do you perhaps use the new FTP over SSL/TLS function?

I'm not using FTP over SSL/TSL.

And yeah, i'm sure I used the same settings. The problem started as I upgraded the previous TCMD 6.55 to TCMD7 RC3.
And because I tested it on saved connections, it can only be the same ini file and the same settings.

I can reproduce it now. You can avoid it by refreshing the listing with F2 or Ctrl+E before trying to download a file. TC tries to resume the download again and again, but it always fails because the target file hasn't been created yet...

This was fixed in TC 7.01. The fix was confirmed in the private beta forum, so I'm moving this thread to the fixed bugs forum.
