The menu that appears when the Options button is pressed at the Copy dialog, has some entries in it that when clicked, a checkbox appears at their left. When the "Ask user" entry is clicked, no checkbox appears. I imagine it's by design but i would prefer a checkbox to be shown there. If it's actually a bug, please treat this post as a bug report.

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3 (very rarely nowadays).
x64: Clients/Servers - Win10/Win11 and Win2K16 to Win2K22, mainly Win10 though.

"Ask user" removes the selection of another mode (every but "Overwrite/Delete read only/hidden/system".
Moving it to "Ask user" instead of removing it could make the function clearer IMHO.
Maybe alternatively/additionally the text could be extended to "Ask user (remove other selection)" -
but I fear the translation process could be an argument against this, so the above should be enough.
