Can't handle files > 2GB on ftp upload

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Can't handle files > 2GB on ftp upload

Post by *tor_vald »

I tried to upload a large zip-file to my webserver (2.7GB), but can't - same settings work with another ftp tool. I use a web proxy to connect to the internet, if that is of any help.

Total Commander has no problems with files >2 GB, even > 4GB work. What error message did you get back? Maybe the server was out of disk space?

Free diskspace on remote system is 78GB, remote filesystem is set so it can handle files larger than 2GB.
I wasn't expecting any errors - after all, my largest testfile was 20GB, but I never tried it over ftp. I do not get any error message at all, ftp simply fails before a file on remote server is even created. Without further debug info I can only guess it's either our custom proxy software or TC, since uploads with another ftp tool seemed to work.

Please turn on the ftp log file in Configuration - Options - FTP, and show us where the upload stops (just the last few lines of the log). Thanks!
