wrong directory selected when switching to separate trees

Post by *Lefteous »

Bug report translated from the German forum:
http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?p=126144#126144

1. Make sure none of the separate trees is displayed.
2. Make sure both file panels show different directories.
3. Set the focus to the right file panel.
4. Switch to one separate tree.
5. Switch to two separate trees.
6. The left separate tree shows the directory of the right file panel (and tree)
Expected: Show the directory of the left file panel.

Remarks:
- The left file panel shows the correct directory.
- The problem doesn't occur if the user sets the focus to the left panel in step 3.
- The problem only occurs when switching from one tree to two trees. It doesn't happens when switching to two trees directly.

…- The problem only occurs when switching from one tree to two trees. It doesn't happens when switching to two trees directly.
• Confirmed too.

Sorry, this will not be changed. The single separate tree becomes the left separate tree. For speed reasons, it does not update when switching from single to dual tree mode.

Then you have to explain, why it doesn't occur if the focus is in the left panel? This is inconsistent.
I also can't see any speed problems and even if it like that, i prefer a correct representation.

Modern PC's are very fast and powerful.
So I think this not a serious reason :)

OK OK, convinced. :)

The private beta testers can already test it.
