If i search for a string with F7, then the search starts at the top line of the window shown.
So if i'm at the bottom of the page, the string is 'not found', because maybe the string occurs at the top of the document.
Out of sight. Nothing else to do than first scroll up, or do Ctrl-Home, before the search.
It would be nice to have an option "search from start' in the dialog.
Maybe this has some connection with the 'Search result - Lines from top of list' item of the configuration.

A command ?

Hello Sam !
• Hence, if I got you alright, you would like a command to reverse the search direction
when one is in the the middle or around ?
- This should be indeed interesting, I could support that !

An option I hadn't think of, but it could be a help.
But this would introduce the chance of having to do a search twice in the same file.
The search in Lister isn't connected to the position of the cursor, like in an ascii-editor, to search forwards or backwards
from that point, but is related to the start of the top-line of the file-part visible on the screen on that moment.
Even if there's no room for an extra checkbox, it would be more efficient to replace "Search backwards" by
"Search from the beginning", because then the search would cover the whole content.

This checkbox should be remembered after closing,
F3 should (still) continue the search from the last position.
Who the hell is General Failure, and why is he reading my disk?
