Drag'n'drop broken in Vista

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Drag'n'drop broken in Vista

Post by *mnerec »

I can drag from Total Commander to the desktop, but I can't drag from the desktop to Total Commander. TC just displays the 'does not accept this object' (or whatever) mouse cursor.

This is nothing new, I have never had TC 7's D'n'D working properly in Vista.

Using:
Windows Vista Business x86 / Total Commander v7.0 final

Cannot confirm, it works fine here (in VMware, no VMware tools installed yet).

Using TC 11.03 / Win10 x64

Did you run Total Commander with full administrator rights via right click menu? Drag&Drop isn't possible then from a program with lower rights (the desktop).

It's running elevated right now, as it is the most of the time. This makes no change for me.

Vista doesn't permit to send messages as for drag&drop between elevated and non-elevated programs.

Ahhh, I misread your message as "You have to run elevated", which I do mostly.

Drag'n'drop works fine when TC isn't elevated!
Thank you.

The reason I run TC elevated, is because the elevation feature buildt into TC hasn't worked for me in the v7 betas.
I'll check out if my problems havn't been fixed in the final version.
