Hello Alexeï !
• I cannot reproduce it here with Xp-Pro SP1 (French)
- I get the list of the drive, and the previous display mode is restored (here : Full)
- I have set the old tree view.
- I tried with one separate tree, no problem, it works.
- Detail : Here, the drive list is NOT displayed usually, but it appears from the short cut.
- It seems that the address of the error is not a TC one…

Hm, I get the Access violation here also when the drive combobox is not displayed. It appears on ALT+F2, and if I press ENTER without selecting a drive first, BAM! This occurs also when the tree is in the left panel and using ALT+F1.
Heres the address on my system, if it could be of any help:
Access violation at address 005D10BB. Read of address 00000002.

Hi, Alextp, hi, Clo, hi, all.
Maybe it is related to WinXP Sp1 vs. WinXP Sp2?
Reason for this assumption:
+ Here: WinXP Pro Sp1 German, TC7 final
+ OldStyleTree=0
+ Both separate folder trees are enabled
+ Cannot reproduce the error just like Clo.
Maybe it is related to the fact that my drive combos are enabled?
Maybe I am just not following the right steps to reproduce the crash?
Kind regards,
Karl

Reviewing the screenshot given in the first post confirmed StickyNomad's words, i.e. I did do it the wrong way.

Indeed it has been fixed in a non-public beta now. The problem was that with the new tree starting at the Desktop, there is no longer an active drive which could be shown in the Alt+F1/Alt+F2 comboboxes. This is new in TC7. However, TC still expected to receive a valid drive from this box, so when it received an empty string, the check for the drive letter went into "empy space"...

As stated on the beta-forum, the bug is fixed in 7.01.
