Pseudo environment variables not fully supported?

Post by *wanderer »

In wincmd.ini, i have changed the Buttonbar setting to

Code: Select all

Buttonbar=%$LOCAL_APPDATA%\Ghisler\Toolbars\DEFAULT.BAR
but it doesn't work. Are pseudo environment variables not supported here? It would be nice if they were...

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3 (very rarely nowadays).
x64: Clients/Servers - Win10/Win11 and Win2K16 to Win2K22, mainly Win10 though.

Hm, works perfectly here on TC7.01. :)
Buttonbar=%$LOCAL_APPDATA%\Ghisler\DEFAULT.BAR
Are you absolutely sure that
+ the "Buttonbar=%$LOCAL_APPDATA\..." entry is located in the [Buttonbar] section of the wincmd.ini?
+ the file %$LOCAL_APPDATA\...\default.bar exists?
+ you use the wincmd.ini in which you put the entry, not a different wincmd.ini?

Yup, you're right. %$APPDATA% (what i should have used in the first place) is different that %$LOCAL_APPDATA%. :)

Yup, not really a bug as it proved out. Perhaps "TC7 suggestions (English)" or "Total Commander (English)"? Or maybe we need a new forum: "Posts from blind people"... :)
