Strange tree behaviors when pressing ENTER while drag&dr

Post by *Lefteous »

1. Change to C:\ in the right panel.
2. Set the focus to the left panel.
3. Switch to separate tree
4. Now drag a file from the left panel to the separate tree (don't drop it).
5. Now press enter on the n-th separate tree item will open the n-th item in the right panel! The n-th item must exist on the separate tree panel and the right panel otherwise nothing happens.

If the n-th item is a directory TC will switch to this directory
If the n-th item is a file TC will display "error in packed file..."

Confirmed, even though I cannot exactly confirm the n-th tree item matches the n-th panel item.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Yes sometimes the item indexes doesn't match exactly. I haven't found out what the reason is. It could be the number of expended items in the tree...

It seems that doing what you describe, works as if pressing CTRL+PgDn on the right panel. The fun starts if you open a packed file in the right panel and the n-th item of it is an executable. When you do what you describe and press ENTER, you get an "Access violation at address 00572FD0" error.

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3 (very rarely nowadays).
x64: Clients/Servers - Win10/Win11 and Win2K16 to Win2K22, mainly Win10 though.

Apparently you have found a function (open target dir under cursor with ENTER during drag&drop) which hasn't been updated yet to support separate trees...
