Failure upload ftp

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Failure upload ftp

Post by *Skov »

When I FTP-upload files to my website-server, all files now are set to 0 kb. But the files are places at the server (but with nothing= 0 kb)

It happens both when I copy file from harddisk (drag) and when I syncronize files.

Have never had this problem. Could I be a failure with the new 7.1?

Or can I do something else?
Kind regards

:) Hello !

• Upload works perfectly here in 7.01. I use "Passive mode".
- Please, enable the FTP-log in the options, and report such a strange copy operation (hide the private info with "***")

• Also, please try to make a screen shot or a video, this is still helpful…

 Kind regards,
Claude

Ups Thank you. My TC was not in Passive Mode.

Now it is - and it seems to work.

:) Again…

• Glad to hear it works now.

- In TC 7.x, you may set the passive mode by default for all connections ;)

- I don't here, because I use often a server which doesn't support it (that's rather rare…).

Strange, you should get an error when the upload fails in active mode. Can you post a log of a failed unpload in active mode, please?

Yes, should I place the logfile here in the forum? The logfile has 3000 lines :?

A few lines around a failed upload of a single file would be sufficient. Or send me the file as a zipped attachement to beta at ghisler dot com. Thanks!

Unfortunately I can't do anything about this bug. The FTP server signals that the files were transferred successfully, so TC cannot know that they aren't...

FTP in Total Commander does not upload or upload size wrong.

Post by *Edd »

Hi everyone, I have had trouble uploading through the ftp service of total commander. I read the posts about it and to my knowledge there were no post with an answer to the problem. Well I think I might have an answer.

I tried al the suggestions but nothing wanted to work. Re-boot, started total commander new, stil same old problem. So I disabled the windows firewall and wallah, file uploaded.

Enabled the firewall and again problem with ftp. Disable firewall and no problem. Uploaded every time. I am using windows xp sp2 and uses the windows firewall.

So hope that will help someone.

Edd.
