<FIXED> Minor button bar bug

Post by *sas2000 »

I've found a minor bug on Tc 7.0 & 7.01.

The first time that i press ALT key after launching Tc the button bar disappears for 0.5 seconds.

It's strange because it doesn't happen with Tc 6.56, and it only happens the first or second time that i press ALT key.

I've made different tests even using a Tc fresh installation with default wincmd.ini & .bar files

This bug it's quite more easy to see with these button bar appeareance settings :

Size = 36
Small Icons -> Unchecked.

Tested on WinXp/Sp2 - Nvidia 7600GS - ForceWare 93.71.

It's really a minor bug, if you think that is not important you can delete this post. :)

:) Hello !

• It doesn't occur here under Win XP-Pro SP1…

• I've Size 24 - Xp-Style disabled - Small icons disabled…

- It could be a hitch from your video card… From a Xp-theme or both.

- I use the classic Win 9x theme, and I've an inboard video with the Intel® mother-board…
- Not a wonder, but without problems.

Hi Clo :)

It could only be a hitch from the GeForce because i do not use WindowsBlinds or similar, just normal Xp blue style.

The only strange thing to me is that this bug it doesn't appear on Tc 6.56.

Thanks.

Card short cuts ?

Post by *Clo »

:) Again…

• Whether your video-card has some short cut¦s with Alt "enabled", you could try to disable it¦them…

• About the difference between 6.56 and 7.x, I can say you that in TC 7, the display of the button-bars
has been changed - improved- but it could be more “sensitive” with regard to the video card…
- Just a feeling.

No shortcuts, i've disabled Nvidia resident utilities & Rivatuner but the bug persists.

I'm agree with you there must be something on Tc 7 that make it more "sensitive".

Thanks again. :)

Have you added any custom icons to the bar, which would require that TC refreshes the bar (redraw a button as pressed)?

Size ?

Post by *Clo »

:) Good evening,

sas2000 says he has set :
Size = 36
• Maybe the resizing to that dimension does matter ?
- Here, I use my own icons (24²) for all button-bars (6), and I can't catch the issue… :?

I've tested with a fresh installation (default wincmd.ini & .bar files) and with my own configuration (all custom icons) and the bug exists in both cases.

As Clo said it's important to do the tests with big size icons.

You should try a fresh installation with only these button bar configuration changes:

Size = 36
Xp style -> Enabled
Flat icons -> Enabled
Small Icons -> Disabled.

If you use small icons the bug is quite more difficult to see.

I've noticed that this bug also appears when you close button bar configuration window (clicking on Ok button).

Thanks.

Nice to hear that, thanks! I would never have noticed it myself, the refresh is very quick here...
