Hi
menet,
thank you very much for testing SetFolderDate and your helpful comments!

FRA section if you want when I will be successfull using your tool...
Unfortunately my french is very poor

(I had my last french lesson 25 years ago)... thus I forbeared from including a self-provided french translation.

In order to get a list of the selected entries, SetFolderDate sends
cm_CopyFullNamesToClip to TC. You don't need to pass any parameters to SetFolderDate.

Thanks, I will add an appropriate hint to the INI-file.
menet wrote:[...] but I have always the same error message : "No directories or archives selected!" [...] Does 7-Zip is mandatory to use your tool and is the reason of the error ?
Yes, 7z.exe is mandatory, if you like to redate archives. 7-zip (7z.exe) is used to retrieve the dates from files inside archives. If 7z.exe is not found, SetFolderDate works only for directories. The message
"No directories or archives selected!" is prompted in this case, if only archives and/or other files are selected.
menet wrote:In a future version, can you add a different error message in this case ?
I agree with you, I will add some more specific error messages.
menet wrote:You should add in the ZIP file a little SetFolderDate.TXT file that explains the tool with the informations that you have gived in the Forum and others like my remarks...
Full ACK! I will add a Readme file in future.
menet wrote:SetFolderDate_1.2.2a does not want to change the date of one of my file because it contains a "&" (ampersand character) in the beginning of its name (8 first characters) [...] In one of my test, the file was named "&.RAR", then the tool loops. I had to kill the 7-Zip process
Strange... I can't reproduce this so far...
menet wrote:A warning : The clipboard is cleared at SetFolderDate start
This is bad, indeed. I will fix this in a future version.
menet wrote:Why the "6=that of a certain file:" choice is not at radio button ?
Because it is an option, which is intended to be used together with
that of the newest / oldest file. A certain file can be found in several (sub)folders. Moreover, you can define file patterns (e.g.
*.jpg, which could apply to multiple files.

Great!

May I add your translation to a future version of SetFolderDate?

Thank you!
