Create a custom column containing "\n". (example "name:[=myplugin.name]\number:[=myplugin.version]")
The backslash is replaced by a slash.

Confirm. And not only with "\n". For example, double backslash is converted into a couple "backslash+slash": \/

\n is normally replaced by a new line, e.g. when using custom fields in hints. To avoid this, the backslash is replaced by a slash.
