This may be achieved when using Courier New or Lucida Console (Opentype fonts) as ANSI font. Go to the beginning of the line, press Shift+End to select the entire line and press left arrow while pressing Shift (to de-select part of the text).

Confirm.
This can also be achieved when using a lot of fonts(there are too many to prove them all) as Variable char whidth

Sorry, such fonts aren't supported for the Ansi and Ascii settings. Do you get this also in variable width mode?

I am trying to find some reasoning behind this statement. Is it a common thing that opentype fonts are not supported in a program, regardless of its kind? To me it looks just like another poor attempt to get rid of a bug report in a very unpleasant way.Sorry, such fonts aren't supported for the Ansi and Ascii settings.
I find it quite OK if the author simply responds with the classic "sorry, I've no intention to change that" or just ignores the thread.
If it matters to anyone I spend quite some time with investigating most of the bugs I find, and while I expect no great rewards for this -- a little more consideration wouldn't hurt.
IMHO
TC for Linux please!

I can not reproduce this bug - maybe it has to do with colors? What are the color setting for background (BgColor), text (FgColor) and selection (BgSelColor and FgSelColor) in your Lister, and what number of colors are you running your Windows with?
Are you using any kind of anti-aliasing/font-smoothing?
Maybe it's an OS issue - I am using Win XP SP2

Courier
Courier New (Opentype)
Fixedsys
Lucida Console (Opentype)
That is clearly a subset of all the available fonts on my system, so it seems that TC considers these particular fonts as usable for the ANSI setting - so how can you say that such fonts aren't supported ???
If I open the font selection dialog for ANSI in the Lister configuration dialog, I get ONLY four choices:Sorry, such fonts aren't supported for the Ansi and Ascii settings. Do you get this also in variable width mode?

Hello Peter !
• That I get here about the ANSI FONT CHOICE …
• The same “execrated” fonts are proposed too…
- Something seems incoherent by there.

In Lister only the default colors, (32 bit) color depth.petermad wrote:What are the color setting for background (BgColor), text (FgColor) and selection (BgSelColor and FgSelColor) in your Lister, and what number of colors are you running your Windows with?
Yes, Clear Type, and this seems to be the problem.petermad wrote:Are you using any kind of anti-aliasing/font-smoothing?
I get: this list.Clo wrote:That I get here about the ANSI FONT CHOICE...
These are all the monospaced fonts. Then if some of those fonts are not supported, they would not have to appear in that list.
Probablemente no
Funny, I tried enabeling Cleartype last night and then it didn't cause the problem, but now I can confirm that using Cleartype causes the problem!es, Clear Type, and this seems to be the problem.
BTW, how can anybody work with Cleartype enabled - I get dizzy looking at all that fuzzyness.
Exactly my point too. These are all the monospaced fonts. Then if some of those fonts are not supported, they would not have to appear in that list

Thanks for the link - I tried the ClearTypeTuner - But on my CRT monitor it is still fuzzy and too bold - maybe it is better on a LCD monitor.
