[req] select all archive parts

Post by *Sosna »

proposition: to make a feature to set cursor on first or any part of multipart archive like somearchive.r01 or somearchive_part1.rar, press Alt+Shift+PLUS (because ALT+PLUS now adds all files with the same ext) and we have all parts of archive selected. would be usefull, I think.

I use '+' to topen the 'select gropup'-dialog and enter

Code: Select all

somearchive.r*
or

Code: Select all

somearchive_part*.rar
in such cases.

OK, I admit it's not that fast than your suggestion, and if there exist additional 'unwanted' files in that directory that match the entered criteria (e.g. 'somearchive.rat'), you would have to de-select them manually after the group selection.

But at least for my occasional multi-volume-archive tasks, this works well and fast enough.

I'm not against your suggestion though.

Maybe using the command cm_SelectCurrentName can help you when it is only the extension that differs (somearchive.r01).

ok, it qould be handy to quickly unpack or remove many archives by this feature. or to clean downloads folder. or smth else. I think it's not too difficult to implement this, and it could be useful for people, who download files from rapidshare etc.
