If I try to create a new shortcut from the TotalCommander window by right clicking on the empty space, it will give me a short dialog that would not create a shortcut but an empty file with the filename that I have provided.

I will check that. Apparently there is some new way of "File - New" in Vista I'm not aware of.
Btw, you can create a Shortcut via right click - Copy, then Right click, Paste shortcut, or via Ctrl+Shift+F5.

Thanks for the tip. However my situation was a bit different. I was trying to create an URL shortcut. When you try to create a shortcut from windows and put a website address instead of the filename, it will create an *.url file instead of *.lnk .ghisler(Author) wrote:I will check that. This has been fixed in TC 7.02. If anyone still has this problem, then please let me know!
