I test Start Guard under some platforms....

It seems now plugin is working OK ! It completely shows the Startup folder and it's content.

I work with admin rights on WinXp Pro.
If I turn off in Overall the item desktop (desktop.ini) - I see 2 desktop OFF. Even I turn it ON in User/startup I see it as OFF.

If I look at its properties there is a button "applay" - is it typed OK?

ver 0.5.1 works perfectly here except that only one line is shown in "User\startup"


one wish : could StartupGuard be compatible with "Startup Control panel" from Mike Lin ( http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml ) disable lines are store in registry.

hi all,
this seems to be the only "startup guard" related thread, i'm able to find here at the ghisler plugin forum.
if there is any newer, please advice me to it, by posting the link.
unfortunately, i could not reach gorbush via mail (bounced twice) and so, i try this way:

i dont know, if developing is discontinued or suspended. please let me know, too.

i use Version 0.5.2 dated 1.02.2006, tc 7.01, winXP sp2 german.

a)
i configured a button, with the command: cd \\\Startup Guard\Overall

now, each time, i click the button the first time, after tc is started, it moves me to \\\Startup Guard, not \\\Startup Guard\Overall.
and not even all the time. sometimes, the button-click does just nothing.

if i change into \\\Startup Guard\Overall by hand and then (from another directory) click the button again, it moves correctly to \\\Startup Guard\Overall

anybody who can tell me why i'm not moved directly the first time to the directory i configured?


b)
disabled/paused entries are showing a wrong filesize (4.294.967.295).
(no difference if the entry is in autostart or registry)

c)
i cannot remove paused entries. only active ones.
why i'm not allowed to delete paused/disabled entries?
the user has to enable/activate the paused ones and then he can delete.
this is one step more the necesary :-) and irritating, too ;-)

d)
also, i found out, that mostly the buttons ESC do not work.
in the settings, i cannot press ESC to escape from the window.
in the properties window of an entry, i cannot press ESC too.

e)
also, but i think, this is by design, rename an entry does not work.
it gives a failure message. if the user should not rename a file, then i would prefer the dialog must not come.
otherwise the user thinks it is possible to rename. but it is not.


ok. hopefully this is reading someone and can guide me out of a) the others points are only secondary ;)
