I've got the following problem:
when I try to access a network share TC freezes and the whole PC, too.
there's no difference, if I try to access the share via UNC or an assigned drive letter. And there's no difference if the share is on the local PC or another PC.
My System:
Intel PIV, 3 GHz, 3 GB RAM
Windows XP Pro, SP2
Any suggestions?

This is definitely NOT normal - programs like TC cannot freeze the whole PC, only device drivers and the windows kernel can do that. So I assume that some driver is hanging, e.g. a background virus scanner, firewall or similar tool.
If just TC hangs, you can add
ThreadFindFirst=1
to wincmd.ini section [Configuration]. It allows you to cancel the connection. However, if the entire system hangs, then there is no way to avoid it from inside of TC. Try disabling background scanners temporarily to find the reason.
