What about the "alternative" of a log-file or process that will track and report file managing actions, input and output results? This of course is not an undo feature but you can track your mistakes and undo manually where applicable plus a log system is useful for other purposes as well.

it would be a great feature, but it must be optionally because it maybe slow down TC.

I suggest a new poll with the variant for the alternative of the log file.
I think the log file must be configured with a maxsize and/or split in diferents log files by month or something like that to avoid opening big files.
TC can carry with a log reader then the best format in terms of not slowing down TC can be choosed.

I agree with both UNDO and the optional tracking log-file. Of course, when you quit TC, the history would be erased in both...

Most answers make it clear, that there is no way to have a complete UNDO facility, or at least there are actions, for which the UNDO facility is not safe, or would have a significant impact on the performance.

I have never had so far a need for an UNDO, so I have voted NO. The implementation of UNDO is never safe. For example, the undo of the file move operation could fail because of the missing file delete right on the target of the original move operation, etc. I know, that Windows Explorer offers such a functionality, but I don't think it justifies enough its implementation in TC.

Summing up, undo is not necessary, warning messages/questions should be enough.
