Tux Commander
Hello All,
There is a project on SourceForge.net called "Tux Commander" that is an attempt to make TC for Linux. It has some of the functionality, the looks, and even developed with Borland Kylix 3.

Site is here http://tuxcmd.sourceforge.net/
I wish I could give it a try but my linux box is busted.
What do you people think about this being as succesful as TC ?

Well, in my opinion it's just an other two-panel-filemanager for Linux that supporst only the basics, nothing spetial. It sin't yet able to handle archives, nor ftp....
If you are searching for something like TC on linux try Krusader. It even has KRename-integration, which is much more powerful then TC's MRT...

Wow!
KRename looks awesome. I especially like the thumbnail preview function and the "Undo" script export functionality. And the plugins support linked to the renaming...
Wow.
Is there a similar Windows counterpart that anyone knows about? I think the TC renamer is great, but I could really use KRenamer functionality.

Licensed, Mouse-Centric, moving (slowly) toward Touch-centric

What I like in TuxCommander is the additional button for the home-dir (~). TC only provides root (\) and (..). Plz Christian, add (~) to the bar with the drive-combobox

as you can see it's not the same on all window versions. There is another problem: %USERPROFILE%\My Documents is the name on english nt machines.. As a german user you should know what I mean
\ and .. are well defined cd operations on all windows machines. If you want to change to %USERPROFILE%\LOCALIZED NAME OF USER DOCUMENTS FOLDER (this is the folder name on my machine
) just add a button to your buttonbar or to the directory hotlist or whatever.
