Enter in Synchronize dir to open Compare by content

Post by *ts4242 »

Double click is the only way to open "Compare by content" for the selected differential files in Syncronize directory, supporting Enter key for openning "Compare by content" will be great!

The hotkey is Ctrl+F3 as you can see in the context menu.

You will be all right.
I agree, but only in Synchronize tool.
But what you do when more than one file is selected on both sides?

Don't forget:

Ctrl+Shift+F3 for internal Compare by content tool - allwais
Ctrl+F3 for external Compare by content tool - if it's defined

Both are working also in overwrite dialog too.
For this reason I put the same shortcuts in main windows (files panel). It's more easy to remind shortcuts.

Also, I suggest the following line to be replaced in LNG file:
1338="COMPARE RESULTS [Ctrl+F3/Ctrl+Shift+F3]:"
6268="&Compare Left - Right\tCtrl+F3/Ctrl+Shift+F3"
My Best Wishes,

Eugen

just like Ctrl+F3 did, only the last two selected files are compared.

anyway, because Enter only is used for "Synchronize" button therefore Ctrl+Enter would be good alternative

Erm, it's the first two files in the list, depending on the current sort setting...
Who the hell is General Failure, and why is he reading my disk?

Actually we both wrong :)
TC compare the current active selected files so becuase i usually select from top to down, the last two files are the active selection while you select from down to top

To confirm try this:
1. select some files
2. use Ctrl+Left click to deselect/select 2 files
3. press Ctrl+F3

Right, confirmed us both being wrong. :)
With Ctrl+F3 in the sync tool always the currently selected file is compared.
