REQs: 1) Menubar Clock 2) Adjustable Transparency 3) Rollup

Post by *CrashTestDummy »

I know, it's more form over function stuff, and that I can get most of these functionalities via other gadget apps and OS tweakers, but I'd really like to see them in TC to keep resource overhead low:

  • 1) A small customizable clock integrated in the TC menubar (next to the Help dropdown item) and/or window titlebar (or as a continuously updated button face, but I know this is probably asking a bit much)

    2) A way to make the TC window turn transparent both automatically to a predefined level when TC loses focus, and user-adjustable on demand from the GUI (perhaps directly via the menu bar again?) using a slider control or something novel like a mouse gesture

    3) A rollup capability, to minimize the window to a floating titlebar (perhaps via double clicking the bar and/or a maximize/minimize styled window button)

Gotta run now, but hit me up for more details later if you'd like more elaboration on these....thanks!

Ad. 1. Imho this will be possible in the future via TitleBar wbx plugin.
Ad. 2 & 3. It can be done via many external applications (e.g. DM2). So there is no need for TC to handle this.

:) Hello ! Welcome aboard !

• Prior, please start one thread per topic, according to the Forum Rules.

1. I would like a small clock too, but it's purely cosmetical… Maybe it could be got with some plugin¦tool ?

2. Personally I (and many others) don't like or wish such a display, very memory-eater…
…and probably non-go under Win9x ( users have this still).

3. Similar to "Minimize as an icon” in the “windowed” programmes… Hm…
Not sure it could be done, or even useful…

 Kind regards,
Claude

2.) and 3.):
You should try Winroll.

It is a tiny (15k EXE, ~200KB memory) and standalone program I use since years and it also supports transparency.
After starting winroll, right-click the tray icon and choose 'about'. In this dialog you can see the functions for specific window elements.
E.g. right click the title bar: rollup/unroll, right click the close button: send window to background, etc.
