Strange freezing on drag and drop

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Strange freezing on drag and drop

Post by *levicki »

I just tried latest Total Commander.

When I drag and drop a shortcut from a Start Menu using right mouse button to one of the TC panels, it shows the menu and I select copy.

Then it just sits there for several seconds doing nothing before showing [Yes][No] dialog. CPU usage is low all the time.

Any ideas?

Maybe a background virus scanner?
There's no noticeable delay here, neither with left or right mouse button dragging (Startmenu to TC 7.02a, Win2k SP4, P3-550 MHz).
Who the hell is General Failure, and why is he reading my disk?

Maybe there is a bug in a drag&drop handler shell extension.

Try to add
DropExtensions=0

to wincmd.ini section [Configuration]
