Harddrive without drive letter - details of host drive

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Harddrive without drive letter - details of host drive

Post by *foxidrive »

TC 7.02a

If I assign a path to a hard drive instead of a drive letter (onto a host NTFS drive) then the free diskspace details when accessing that folder tree, list the host drive freespace when viewed over the LAN and not the drive itself.

EG:

Host drive is C:
second HDD is given the path "c:\media\drive 1"
browse "\\pc\c\media\drive 1\files" over the LAN
the freespace listed next to the drive buttons shows
"4,039,729,152 of 200,047,001,600 b free" which is the freespace and drive size of the host C: drive and not the 420 GB of "c:\media\drive 1"

If this has been reported already then I apologise - the search terms I tried listed hundreds of posts.

As you can see, it's a hot topic. But hey, we have full win95 support.
