What SpeedCommander have and TC not yet:
1) Wipe files (Ctrl-Shift-Del)
2) Split big file - with password
3) Delete directly from search result list (F8/Del)
4) Search criteria: Modify Date, Create Date, Acces Date
5) Save result search list (result1, result2, result3...)
- Add to an existent Container (current)
- Add to a new Container
6) Edit directly from result search list (F4)
7) Double click default setting in result search list: View [F3], Open (Edit) [F4] or Go to file
8 ) Ctrl-A - select all (dirs inclusive)
9) Alternative line in MRT
10) Alternative line in synchronize
11) Check box to every file into synchronize tool
12) Button on folder line for check/uncheck files under directory for synchronize/except the files
13) Status Bar in Lister
14) Window splitter at 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%
15) Highlight editor
16) Add current directory directly to favorite

Few of those are asked through TC forum and can be implement into TC.
More of them in new 7.5 version, since is not to late.

• Just a point :
Ctrl+A selects all in TC too, including the folders whether you tick the radio-button in :
Options >> Operation (•) Also select directories
- Works with NUM + or Ctrl+A, it has been discussed here recently.

The most of the issues can be solved already but there is no "one click" solutions for all:
1, 15 - plugins,
2 - small external tools,
3, 6, 7 - AutoHotkey script,
4, 8, 11, 14, 16 - built-in,
5, 12 - almost built-in,

9, 10 and 13 left

We cannot expect that EVERY functionality will be available in TC in easy way. There are too many things depended of personal tastes. Prioritising the goals is always the most difficult problem. One of TC's advantages is that you can customise it to your needs in many possible ways such a plugins, scripts, user commands, etc.. Personally, I don't expect that all will be given at the plate and there will be no place to play with. Just play, just read, just extend your knowledge. You'll find the way

I know very well. It's just a look to others.
Maybe few of them can be inside TC buil-in, without plugins.
I agree, it's much better to learn more but so many users don't have time and patience for that. Even for 4, 8, 11, 14, 16 and 5, 12 - almost built-in, it is a way to improve those functionalities.

I repeat: TC is the best and must be kept like that.

Actually, there are several other things missing from TC that SC has implemented usefully.

Too bad SC doesn't support TC WDX plugins. TC keeps me at home because of them. Those, and the substring selector dialog in the TC multi-rename tool (a real god-send!).

Normally not, but I use it sometimes, example:
- When I navigate in my directory pictures: tree (album list) + panel 1 (thumbnails) + panel 2 (quickview)
- When I browse my music directory: tree (title albums/authors) + panel 1 with custom tags columns + panel 2 (horizontal/vertically)
- Bla, bla...

What about support custom layouts in TC?

C'mon, man! Since when did you last try the SC toolbar editor? You can have multiple toolbars, dock them anywhere except in the middle (darn it). You can edit any button directly using the MS toolbar editing model (customize, context menu, "start group", built-in icon editor, drag and drop controls between toolbars and menus, no distinction between menu and toobar, etc, etc).

I have used many commanders in depth. SCs toolbar system is nowhere nearly as flexible as the Dopus toolbar system, for instance, but the multiple toobars paradigm alone is better than TCs single bar.

I WROTE ABOUT the MENU - not the Toolbars that for a keyboardgeek like me are 98% of the time useless-waste of space...
