CDocProp is the thing i was looking for.

ShellDetails not, because even the widows explorer doesn't show all this fields.

Thank you very much for pointing to CDocProp. I was searching the totalcmd.net, but missed it somehow.

I guess I cannot help you without a more detailed description. What did you expect and what do you experience in contrast?

Plugin doesn't receive/show any fields from supported formats. All fields are empty. Tested in toopltips, custom columns, multi rename tool.
Also plugin doesn't write mp3 tags (I guess it doesn't write to any supported formats but I tested only with mp3).
Please tell me what additional info you need? Maybe version of explorer.exe, installed shell extensions, file associations etc...

No. Fat32.
Readme.html wrote:For many file types the NTFS file system is required.
Can you write what functions (filetypes, fields, reading/writing...) should work on fat32?

All file types which store their metadata inside the file instead of the alternate file stream should work on FAT.
Here is an incomplete list of file types which works ok here on a FAT drive:
DOC ASF FPX JPEG JPG PPT XLS MP3

This works fine here for reading an writing metadata and for all fields which the filetype supports (see readme).

Yes, plugin works here for some filetypes e.g. msi
I'll try to get full list of supported formats.
I think plugin may not work if supported format doesn't associated with default MS program, but still have to investigate it.
Also plugin sometimes hangs TC if it calling for some files.

I coulnd't find any documentation from Microsoft on that so far.

I don't think associations matter here.

If you have found any patterns what causes the problem or want to provide sample files feel free to do so. Please include information on your operating system and installed shell extensions.

What exactly means "don't work". Maybe you can post a screenshot?

What is your systemwide language setting for "non unicode applications"?

Please note that TC and all all plug-ins don't fully support Unicode characters.

Słowa kluczowe = Keywords from Summary.
In fields from "ShellDetails" is OK.

[AD] Plugin blocks files and folder

Post by *chojny »

Few months ago I mentioned about "Plugin blocks files and folder" under Summary 1.00 BETA 4. I wondered why I was using Summary 1.00 BETA4 few months later without any problems and some time the blocking occurs.

Today I probably found a reason! I forget that I had added my own custom columns view with column defined as: "[=summary.Comments]".
Everything works OK if I don't switch to this view. But if I switch I get blocking problem and changing to another view didn't helps. Only TC restart helps.

Moreover I tried to use "Change attributes" feature defined as: Plugin=tc, Property=comment, Value=Summary.Comments AND again if my columns view is selected every attempt to change attributes hangs TC. With another columns view everything works fine.

I noticed also that
1) files not containing NTFS stream are blocked. I haven't figure it out but maybe only such a files are blocked.
2) folders are blocked more frequantly than files. E.g. I open folder containing files then leave it and try to delete this folder => every file is deleted but folder is blocked. Folder not opened before aren't blocked.

PS. Sorry for my english but I hope I explained it clearly. If you want to get some more information I'm willing to help.

instead of restarting TC, you can unload all the plugins using the following command :

cm_UnloadPlugins

this allow to not restart TC !
