When copying outlook files: Files are unintentional deleted

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

When copying outlook files: Files are unintentional deleted

Post by *Adson »

Hi, I found the following issue in 7.02/Vista:

When trying to copy and overwrite files from my outlook folder to another outlook folder shortly after closing outlook an error message appears. This reads that the files (e.g. Outlook.pst) are not found. I think this is because Vista has not disconnected the files at this moment.

So far no problem. If I wait some minutes I can copy the files without problems.

BUT: In the moment the error message appears the files that should be overwritten in the target directory are deleted. This means the unsuccessful copy operation kills the files in the target directory without overwriting them.

I don't know if this is an TC or a Vista issue but think it should not happen.

A.

Yes, seems to be the same problem - Outlook must still be updating its database, although the user interface has already vanished...
