[REQ] Autosuggest: F7 on files / Shift+F4 on folders

Post by *icfu »

Present situation:
TC 7 autosuggests the foldername under the cursur.
Shift+F4 autosuggests the filename under the cursor, included earlier.

Nice features, I like them, but I would like to have them extended:
1. F7 should also autosuggest the filename under the cursor (without the extension)
2. Shift+F4 should also autosuggest the foldername under the cursor (with extension .txt or no extension)

Optional of course, no annoyance intended! ;)

One year later:
1. F7 should also autosuggest the filename under the cursor (without the extension)
Has been implemented meanwhile.
2. Shift+F4 should also autosuggest the foldername under the cursor (with extension .txt or no extension)
Has not been implemented, why not? That would complete the set...

Any chance?

Very Good idea, Support++
(I seem to have missed your first post)

This would be a consistent addition. Also it shouldn't disturb anyone, because you can instantly type a new name if you don't need the suggestion, just like the already implemented F7/SHIFT+F4 suggestions.

About suggesting a default extension or not, I'm quite neutral. The best would be of course to have it configurable.

Code: Select all

[configuration]
suggestDirectoryExtension=txt
If this entry doesn't exist or is set to '0', no extension is suggested, otherwise the named extension is used as default.

I like it too. Even could be a good option if you are inside a directory and press SHIFT+F4 when the cursor is over .. (two points)
I can read English, but... I write like Tarzan. (sorry)
