Post by *dkyriakis »

Is one of the plug-ins suitable for view-ing *.dia image files?

Thank you,

Demetrios.

Theoretically it should be possible to view these files using (PDF)filter plugin.

This plugin allows to view any file type IF proper converter to more known formats exists. Because dia.exe can handle "--export" parameter it should be possible to view needed diagrams.

Unfortunately it doesn't work correctly here. Conversion looks like started but nothing more happens. Maybe someone else will help you better.

:) Hello !

• I checked in XnView, that format is not listed, despite it supports 509 formats @ reading and 74 à writing…
- Like Peter points out, it should be useful to know what these image are and come from…
- Then, a sample could allow to test, because whether XnView could display them,
then you could use it from Lister or Alextp's UV. Just a thought…

App:
http://live.gnome.org/Dia

Portable version:
http://www.framakey.org/Portables/PortableDIA

Samples:
http://live.gnome.org/Dia/Examples

DIA files lookslike compressed XML.

And as Iwrote above:
there is main dia.exe file which supports command line parameters (--export) for converting from DIA to i.e. JPG.

Hi,

Here are a few examples of such dia files from an open source project called symmetricds:
http://tinyurl.com/yskxxu

I observed that such files are present in more open source projects, so I thought maybe there's a quick way to view them (just with a simple and quick f3 :) ).

Of couse, one can always use the original software, but that's not that quick as a usual F3 :).
