"Others" windows volumes

Post by *pafal »

Hi.
Do you plan support for "exotic" volumes placed in "This Computer/Others" like Siemens S55 mobile, Creative Jukebox Zen, etc.?

Windows explorer shows these volumes and allows standard file operations. But... Explorer is not friendly program for me.

Siemens S55 software places shortcut on desktop pointing to this:
C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe ::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\::{ED65AB21-B24F-11d3-BA80-00C0CA16AA37}}

I dont understand it :(, but it works fine with my mobile over RS232 or IrDA interface. Similar behavior offers Creative Jukebox Zen Filemanager software. Provides player hardware as windows disc volume.

So, can I access volumes about this types in WinCMD?

There is a plugin for some Siemens phones (it works with S55 - I use it, too :-) ).

Look here: http://clubtotal.free.fr/tc_wfx.html (SIFS).

Thanks a LOT. It works already good. But only 57600, not 115200 Bd. Do you have the same experiences too?

Some ideas/plugins for Creative Jukebox Zen ?

Archimedes stated "Give me a place to stand on and I will move the earth."
So, give me a Jukebox with API and I will write plugin!

Unfortunately you are right. It works only 57600. Look here:

Hmm... According to this link
Gnomad should handle Nomad Jukebox 1, 2, 3, Zen and Zen USB 2.0 without any major showstoppers
Did you try to contact Gnomad authors?

No, I didn't. It was long time ago, I tried it, it failed with my Zen, I deleted it. I was frustrated  and I rebooted to Win. In this time, Zen was news.

In any case, I think they are developing Linux SW, not win TC plugin, but i can contact they and ask for it.

I thought this code helps you or other Win SW developer to write appropriate plugin.
