Plugin to view Outlook's PST files

Post by *fm-xvid »

i've tried searching in the website earlier but could only find the "EML Viewer" plugin. so i'd like to know if a plugin to view Outlook's Personal Folders file exists?

There is a filesystem plugin here:

http://en.totalcmd.pl/download/wfx/oth/Outlook
(description is old and according to Changelog you CAN view messages)

Packer plugin:
http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/dbx.html

PS. I've never tested none of above so I do not know if there work OK.

2Vansumsen: thanks but i'm already using EML Viewer but it doesn't work with *.PST files.

2fenix_productions: thanks. i didn't realize that there was an update as the older version was unable to view the files but anyway, i'll try this over the weekend.

2TBeu: it would be nice if you continue to develop this plugin :-)

It shouldn't be a problem, however I only use Outlook 2000 where Extendes MAPI is not supported. See http://www.wischik.com/lu/programmer/mapi_utils.html. So I am not able to test it.
Lucian Wischik wrote:Microsoft claim that Extended MAPI is 'unsupported' for Outlook 2000 in Internet Mail Only mode. Nevertheless, it mostly all works. The only thing that fails is loading a standalone PST file. But for Outlook'97 and OutlookXp this isn't an issue — neither of these use the crippled Internet Mail Only mode.

I would love to be able to view my pst files even now I no longer have Outlook. Did a day long search for some open source program but in the end Outlook was always needed. Commercial products are out of the question for me as I only need to find a mail so now and then.

The FileSystem plugin doesn't even open. Nothing happens clicking on it, pressing enter, alt-enter. I guess because I have no Outlook :-|

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
