quick search with colors

Post by *mateusz_f »

I use quick search very often and it is a great time saver. However to make this functionality even more user friendly I would like to suggest this feature.
The idea is to add one option to colors configuration dialog: quick search match. When typing search pattern in lister items which match the pattern would change the color to the chosen one.
It may probably collide with colors selected for different file types, so another option would be to change font, make it bold or toggling xor color etc.
This function would be very good for people doing lot of typing because it decreases eye-strain and also shows you matches immediately and thus allows faster navigation.

yes, I tried this one but it is quite slow. Maybe If I only could map it to a key. Do you have a way? I haven't found command to do it.
Anyway, I think my solution would be better and faster.

Thanks for your idea.

Just make an user command calling the exe, with %P as parametar.
Than you could map it to any available hotkey you like.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

My support as well.
As I use inverted cursor (white text on black background) I would like to see that on all files that match the quick search term. This way it wouldn't collide with the custom colors.

Optional of course ;)
TC for Linux please!
