I have a Canon IXUS 430 digital camera - it's an ordinary model.
I can connect it via USB port and see it on 'My computer'.
However, it's not shown on tcmd.
dowes anyone know why? Is it possible to 'enable' it somehow?
Thanks,
Amir

Your camera is not recognised as a mass storage device. Windows explorer has a special interface to connect to such cameras. TC has not.
But there is a plugin for TC that works very well with most cameras. See here http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=15028&highlight=wiacam

Hello, amirdagan.
In case the camera does not get a drive letter assigned when the USB cable is plugged in, you may have to use the CanonCam v1.7 plugin for TotalCommander. This is true for my old Canon Powershot A200 e.g.
It is possible, too, that you will be able to see and use your IXUS inside TotalCommander by going to Commands => Open Desktop Folder => My Computer. If the IXUS is visible and usable under My Computer you might prefer using the T.C. internal command cm_OpenDrives in order to go there.
HTH,
Karl

Viellen Danke :-)
hope this is spelled correctly...
Your idea seem to be the actual tcmd way to view cameras - and it works with mine as well.
Thanks again.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
