Rename tool loosing focus (TC 7.03)

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Rename tool loosing focus (TC 7.03)

Post by *rtfm »

After renaming files (CTRL+M), make changes, press eneter, press ESC to get rid of the rename dialog, TC goes into background and any other window that you have opened comes in the front. Very annoying!! I always have to alt-tab back to TC after renaming.

This happened in previous versions as well, but did not happen some time back, maybe started with versions 7.xx?? Please fix this!!

Thanks!

This happens when FileBox eXtender 2.x is used, it's extremely buggy. Stick to version 1.9x, it doesn't have that prob or add TC to exclusion list.

If it's not FileBox eXtender, it's some other 3rd party app, maybe some graphics driver software, etc...

Edit: Not confirmed, sorry - I only get the focus problem in a quite close place (after sync is done, before closing MRT).

So only similar problem when synchronizing into RAR archives:
Sync into RAR: focus lost, file list lost

Encountered on different PCs (Desktops, Notebooks) with different graphics cards, no FileBox Extender - and no WindowBlinds...
Unfortunately no change planned, because it was not reproducible reliably. :(

Maybe you have a special scenario + files to reproduce this?

I don't have filebox extender??

No need for special files or circumstances, it happens every time I use multi-rename to rename anything. Press esc to get rid of the dialog after renaming and TC is gone to the background...

Only video related thing on my PC is Windowsblinds. Could this be the problem?

OS is XP Pro SP2.

Thanks!

Sorry, cannot reproduce either here (XP Pro, SP2), and I don't use filebox extender either...

Disable it temporarily to get enlightened...

If that doesn't help, shut down any other 3rd party app, first those running in systray - especially stuff from ATI or NVidia – then also those running in background by killing processes with task manager or so.

Oops, I get the focus problem a little earlier (before closing MRT), so not confirmed, sorry.

OK, I confirmed it is Windowsblinds related. Once I shut it down, focus is not lost. I did not know it could be related to that. I'll check if newer version does it too. Thanks for your help!
