Commander crashes when accessing a specific disk

Hi, mandos.
In your initial post you stated that the problem started with TotalCommander v7.04 and that TotalCommander v7.03 worked perfectly.

In my first post I say it exists on all the versions I tried:

I just tried tc7.04 and the problem still exists

the disk works ok on other machines
on this computer it does the same even if it is connected on a hub (with external power)


checkdisk returns errors:

CHKDSK is verifying indexes (stage 2 of 3)...
Error detected in index $I30 for file 17813.ntries processed)

I'm doing a chkdsk /f now, if the problem remains I'll run WD tests on the disk
If nothing fixes the problem I'll propably low-format and repartition the disk so as to see if it is a hardware problem or something on the contents of the disk

after chkdsk /f TC is accessing my disk normally (finally)

the bad news is that chkdsk gave me 4 bad sectors
I'm now looking for the receipt to see if I can return it
