It would be helpful if the compare directories command color-coded the results. A good model would be Beyond Compare ( http://www.scootersoftware.com ), which by default colors files which are identical on both sides black, orphans (on one side but not the other) blue, files which are newer on one side red, and files which are older on one side grey (and also lets you toggle on/off whether each such subset of the files is visible - e.g. hide left orphans.)
I realize that there could be conflicts with color-coding by extension. Perhaps the latter could be temporarily disabled?
I would not expect TC to match a specialized utility like BC in the sophistication of its folder comparison functions, but some cross-pollination would be nice!
