FTP Proxy setting for HTTP

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

FTP Proxy setting for HTTP

Post by *PeaceMaker »

Hi!

When we paste a HTTP link in FTP window (Ctrl+N) it always choose the first PROXY server definition (if available). I think it's a "bug" that TC doesn't use the parameter in wcx_ftp.ini called "default=" in [firewall] section...

The "default" entry is for FTP proxy defaults. TC uses a separate list of proxies for ftp and http.

Will there ever be a "default" entry for HTTP - I'm using several PROXY/FIREWALL gates and it's very uncomfortable!

Is this really necessary?

Yes it is! An FTP proxy (e.g. port 21 or 2121) will never work for HTTP transfers.
