[?Bug] Directory lose attributes when unpack .rar file

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

In my .rar file , a directory has attributes with r-h-
when i unpack it , the directory has no attributes !!
( files 's attributes keep)

i test unpack a .zip file , the directory and files can keep attributes.

i test unpack a .7z file , like .rar file , files can keep attributes but directory can't .

You are using fhRAR plugin for unpacking, obviously, looks as it's indeed limited and doesn't restore directory attributes. TC's internal method and also external WinRAR work flawlessly.

I can also confirm that problem with 7-Zip and SQX plugin, so it's a limitation of the plugin interface I guess.

:) Hello !

• That's right, I tested with RAR (external WinRar).

- I guess that is due to the design of these external packers libraries.
- ZIP uses the built-in one which is planned to keep all attributes, while the quoted external ones don't…

i test with winrar.exe/rar.exe , the problem also have.
i try use 7zip.wcx to pack .7z , attributes also lose.

why files can keep attributes , directory can't , i don't see.

You have to DISABLE the fhRAR plugin and then restart TC, for example with plugman:
http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/tc_plugman.html

It's not enough to just enter the path to WinRAR.exe or rar.exe in config because the plugin has priority...
