Bug with extracting files from archives

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Bug with extracting files from archives

Post by *hemule »

Hi,
there is a bug with extracting files from archives (I tried .zip, .rar). If you enter archive containing folders and then switch to Branch view (Ctrl+B) to see all files in subfolders and then try to copy some file it will be extracted with the full path it had been stored in archive.
May be it is not a bug but a feature but this option works another way with just simple folders not archives.
Tested in TC 7.02, TC 7.04a

Thank you very much for the great program Christian, it really helps me.

Uncheck
"[ ] Unpack path names if stored with files"
in the "Unpack files" dalog

Hi Holger, thank you for quick responce.
The solution works.
Actually the problem as I see it is in the difference between extracting files from achived directories then Branch View is on or off.

It's indeed intentional because you can choose here whether you want to unpack the paths or not (which is not the case for the copy function).
