Cursor color (marker) disappears when focus lost

Post by *Perplexer »

I remember asking about this years ago and I vaguely remember it was hard to implement (if I'm not mistaken). I wonder if anything has changed.

I have a directory with many JPG pictures and I click them one by one to open them in an image viewer. When I close the image viewer, I want to click the next picture in TC7 but since TC7 lost focus the cursor (marker) is not visible anymore and I can't visualy identify the last image that I clicked since there are so many. So I have to first click on TC7 title bar to focus it and see the last clicked file, and only then I can click on the next picture to open it. Very annoying.

Yes... this also occurs when using a Quickview plugin that enables interaction with the preview. Clicking in the preview panel removes the highlight from the file panel.

Extremely irritating behavior that necessitates extra (superfluous) clicks (and a few expletives) many times each day.

It doesn't matter to me why the cursor disappears (something to do with TC using the standard windows list control cursor, no doubt)... the visibility of the cursor in the file panel should be persistent.

This a programming issue that could be solved if desired. Not all file managers exhibit this aggravating behavior.
