Selection remains after cancelling removing

Make sure no files/dirs are selected, put the cursor onto any file/dir, press F8 or Del, then Cancel or No -> the file/dir remains selected.

This appeared only in 7.04a and seems to be caused by its only bugfix (about removing file under cursor instead of selected ones), because even in 7.04a RC1 there was no such behaviour.

Confirmed here too under Windows Vista 32 bits.
