weird percentage display
Total Commander Version 7.0 32bit (6.6.2007)
While deleting a RECYCLER folder, tc showed up with the message
"Deleting:D:\RECYCLER\XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
438% done"
I've some screenshots of this messagebox.

19.06.08 Release Total Commander 7.04 beta 7
13.06.08 Added: Also show progress for deleting directories (count them just like files)
Maybe this is already fixed in TC7.04a (08.08.2008) ?
Another point:
How did you delete the files in recycle bin
- <Shift delete> (final remove)
- <Delete> move to recycle bin

Holger

Theres no way for me to upload the images to a file server.
I thought phpBB forum would support file upload.
I don't have a license for 7.04, so iam not able to test or reproduce the bug.
To remove the folder I moved them to the recycle bin with a simple <Delete>.

Hehe wir arbeiten anscheinend in der selben Stadt!

If you have a licence for your current TC version, you can update to current version without having to buy a new licence. All updates are for free, so far.schilkschi wrote:Theres no way for me to upload the images to a file server.

Ah, now i understand and can confirm the wrong percentage display.schilkschi wrote:.. To remove the folder I moved them to the recycle bin with a simple <Delete>.
What you are trying to do, is deleting the complete recycler-subfolder.
But you are doing this with the safe "[x] F8/Del deletes to recycle bin (Shift= directly)" method.
This means that you are moveing the folder's content into it's own location.
Sorry this won't work like you expect.
EDIT: Dangerous tip: Deleting desktop.ini inside this folder may break the recycle bin functionality

See post below.
If you want to empty recycle bin:
- change into the "XXXXXXXXXXXXXX" subfolder
- mark all files and folders
- press <SHIFT+Del> to remove the marked files/folder
Without <SHIFT> the files are only moved exactly into the same "XXXXXXXXXXXXXX" folder.

Holger

To empty the recycle bin, please do not try to delete it. Instead just right click on the F8 button and choose "Empty recycle bin".

In case of trouble after deleting the complete content of recycle bin sub folders:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/136517
Deleting the info file isn't the problem, because of automatic recreating after reboot.
But desktop.ini must be manual recreated with the following content:
Code: Select all
[.ShellClassInfo]
CLSID={645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
I did not notice any problems, because desktop.ini is hidden here via ignore list.
