I just bought a Sony Walkman (E438F)...when i connect it to my PC Total Commander dont show it....In Windows Explorer it shows as "Walkman" and when looking at "My Computer" its in the category "Other"..
Are there any way i can get the Walkman to Show in Total Commander or am i stuck with Windows Explorer for this one ?
On a machine with XP and some hardware problems it sometimes worked, sometimes didn't.
On my PC this walkman doesn't work at all because I have XP x64.

nope...dont work....
You can try to access it via menu Commands - Open Desktop Directory and then going to "My Computer".
Didn´t work either...
When looking at the properties of the Walkman disc it has at filesystem called "generic hierarchical", i dont have a clue what that means but maybe Total commander cant handle that ?
I just tried the desktop directory thing that ghisler wrote about on my desktop ( writing the first post i was on my laptop ( Compaq Evo N160 from 2002 ) and this time it worked, found the Walkman under "My Computer"..
Maybe you could go to totalcmd.net and got some WFX plugins could access SONY walkman. If there were no plugin like this, maybe you can only access it from Explorer...
i did change the type of my walkman to USB mass storage device, so it appeares as a normal drive.
- go to device manager
- locate walkman and go to properties
- select driver tab
- refresh driver... (i don't know if this is the correct translation)
- select install from a list.. -> next
- don't search -> next
- select USB mass storage device (the other is MTP device)
- you're done (the walkman gets a drive letter)
