So I got this:
Image: http://www4.slikomat.com/09/0227/8i8-Clip.jpg
Using TCMD 7.04a, registered version. Left window was a local partition, right window had three tabs, first two showing contents of my NAS box (FreeNAS 0.69, based on FreeBSD 6.4) and the third being a "0" active idling FTP connection (on LIST command, no transfers) on the internet (not locally!!). No timeout is set for my account on the FTP daemon.
Before the message appeared I was browsing directories of one of the tabs on the right showing my NAS box share and then switched on my FTP tab. I went CDUP (still showing the same content) and for a while nothing happened until this message came up. Tried to reconnect via ctrl f profiles but socket creation failed over and over again. Even a new instance failed to create socket for the first time. After that it started to work normally again.
I thought this might help and I hope I have elaborated the situation as much as I could.

Unfortunately the reported address isn't in Total Commander itself, all addresses start with 004. Looks like the TCP/IP stack somehow crashed, maybe from bad data from the server...
