Tabs and archives in temp folder

Post by *aguirRe »

The new tabs are great but I've noticed something that doesn't seem right.

If you have a tab that shows the contents of an archive within an archive (which TC temporarily unpacks to the Windows' temp folder), and switch to another tab and then back again, the tab now displays (and is switched to) the Windows' temp folder with the archive contents gone.

You'll then have to manually find the archive again in the directory structure and reopen it. When needing to switch several times between tabs for comparing files, this quickly becomes annoying.

This might be related to an older (TC 5.51 and earlier) misbehaviour when you too quickly press Ctrl-PgUp repeatedly to leave an archive within an archive. Then also the active pane is switched to the Windows' temp folder, very confusing.

You'll always have to "take it slow and easy" when backing out of such an archive in order for TC to maintain the correct directory structure.

This is a known limitation which cannot currently be changed, sorry. Switching back from an inner achive will close that archive, no matter how you switch away from it.
