So, if the line is empty, it defaults to *.*?

Any time I have ever searched for text in files, I have always left that line empty.

sorry for the really dumb question, but how do I get this plugin to work, i.e. I have installed it correctly, and now that I have highlighted one of the files I want to see the info for, what key do I have to press? I have tried quick view (ctrl-q) as well as lister (f3).

You need to set either custom columns or files tooltips.

You can also use it in files Overwrite dialogue. Just do something to see that dialogue and you will have "Custom fields" option there too.

Are you sure about that? Did you try to Ctrl+V into notepad after that?

Duh on me. I tried it in the wrong place. It works.

Is the only way to get the the Custom fields for that when you copy a file? Is there a way to get to it to set it up first?

Only if you edit the [OverwriteCustomField] section in your wincmd.ini file manually.

I don't know other way to do it but since it is possible to set info for many files (not only the one being overwritten) it never bothered me. Other thing is more important for me: to get this dialogue (or similar one) in other situations. Such missing feature was the main reason for writing Comparer.
